What to do here

  1. 1

Google or a magic link, no password to remember. You land on your start page.

  2. 2

    Start a session

Press Start a session on the start page. You will see your session length and the game you are opening on, then Begin Session.

  3. 3

    Pick a game

Open on whichever of the three you like, from the start page or the tabs at the top of the session. You can switch between all three while you play.

  4. 4

    Play

Answer at your own pace. If something is too hard, press Ease this; if a round is not working for you, press Skip. Neither costs you anything. CJ checks in every so often to ask how the pace feels.

  5. 5

    Stop

Press the X to end, or Pause and come back. Stopping early is fine and nothing is lost: every completed five focused minutes has already earned a brick.

  6. 6

    See your development

Open Your development in the bar above to see your figure, the sessions you have kept, the games you have explored, and how your own read of your pace has shifted.

The three games

Signal & Noise

Sharpens: Pattern recognition

Short streams appear - sometimes scenes about people, sometimes patterns in numbers - and you pick the one that fits the question. Reading the signal in the noise, in your own time.

Streams: Mixed, Numbers only, or Full text. Numbers only drops the paragraphs entirely.

Chain Reaction

Sharpens: Connected thinking

Link concepts together, one at a time. Get it right and the chain grows; get it wrong and it breaks, so you start fresh. No rushing.

Streams: Cascade (cause and effect) or Ripple (number patterns with a stated rule).

Word Forge

Sharpens: Language & recall

Read words one at a time, then fill the gap in the passage you just read. Stretching your language, not your typing speed.

Streams: Mixed, Recall only, Comprehension only, The Anvil (build a word from its letters) or The Mould (change one letter to make another word).

Bricks and your figure

Every five focused minutes earns another brick towards the person you're building. Not a streak. Not a score. And nothing disappears because life got in the way. Just small periods of deliberate practice that add up over time. Small steps. Real change. Five minutes at a time.

A brick is five focused minutes, counted across all your sessions added together - so three short sessions count just as fully as one long one. Your bricks assemble the figure in six stages: start at 0, first steps at 1, progress at 10, taking shape at 25, growing stronger at 50, a stronger you at 100. The figure at the end is the same you who started.

Questions people ask first

What am I meant to do here?

Play a short session, most days if it suits you. Five to ten minutes, three short games, at your pace. That is the whole of it. There is nothing to finish, nothing to unlock and nobody to keep up with.

How long should I play?

Five to ten minutes is plenty. Sessions default to ten minutes, which you can change in Settings, but the clock never ends anything: it counts up, it is information only, and you stop when you choose. You can hide it altogether in Settings if you would rather not see it.

Is this a test?

No. Nothing here is scored against a standard, nothing is compared with anyone else, and there is no leaderboard. You will see your own rounds and accuracy because they are yours to look at, not because anyone is marking them. Getting a round wrong changes nothing except which round comes next.

What does CJ do?

CJ is your companion while you play - never a judge. Tap her photo at the bottom of any game screen to ask how something works, say what feels hard, or just get a word of reassurance. She checks in every so often to ask how the pace feels, and what you tell her quietly adjusts the difficulty. You can ignore her entirely and the games work exactly the same.

Can I change the game or stream?

Any time, mid-session, without losing anything. The three game tabs sit at the top of every game screen, and the Variant dropdown directly beneath them changes the stream of whichever game you are on - numbers instead of text in Signal & Noise, say, or Ripple instead of Cascade in Chain Reaction. The change applies straight away (the round you were on is not counted) and is remembered for next time. Your bricks stay either way.
